Bella and Bethany from Tuckaseegee, North Carolina~

Hi Mama Sue,

It's us girls, Bethany and Bella! When Mom told us that there are wild animals in the mountains I really didn't think anything about it. I didn't know the difference between wild and tame, although Mom sometimes call me Wild Woman. So far, we've learned there are squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, opossums, one really smelly critter called a skunk, Canada geese, loads of birds, bobcats and even a bear.
This is a photo of a friendly visitor. The first time both of us have ever seen this strange critter that snaps closed whenever you try to get a good sniff. Love to all the High Calling Family and enjoy the photos!

Loving tail wags and sloppy wet kisses,

Bethany and Bella (Mom sends her love too)

Hi Mama Sue,
It's really been HOT in the mountains. Bella and I can't wait to get back inside. Our Mom went to town and on this funny sign that blinks there were numbers. Mom couldn't believe it, the sign read 101! I don't know about numbers but Mom told us that's really hot and not even the heat indexes.

Now, for something serious--Warning! Arctic Foxes are not to be chased! Bella and I had just finished playing with our penguin toy. That's when we looked up and saw the Arctic Fox with it's pure white coat. Needless to say that critter wasn't going to be in the house with us. I gave chase! Full steam ahead! Mom yelled for me to stop and well I guess I'm glad she did, cause I ran into the TV glass. I still don't know where it went and Mom couldn't stop laughing. I tried to tell Mom I was defending our home but she still laughed. I guess it was funny because Mom told us she should have gotten it on camera.
Give my best to all my High Calling family!
Tail wagging love,

Bethany and Bella too!

Aspen from Sparks, Nevada~

Good Afternoon Mama Sue,
It has been awhile since we sent you a hello. I just had to send you this funny picture. We went to our other house and we played so hard and I was soooo tired on the way home and didn’t have my favorite pillow I thought the cup would do just fine. I see we have some new family members. They are “very cute” my Mom and Auntie say. They told me I used to look like that, but I just don’t see it. I got a haircut after this picture so now I am cool for summer and tearing it up. Just wanted to say hello and promise to send new pictures soon!

Chloe had her hair cut and they put little blue bows on her ears. They said she was very good except she liked to dance when they were trimming up her front paws and she was always watching everything that was going on. That's because she's a smartie! :0)

Emily from Quincy, Massachusetts~

Hi Mama Sue,

We are now well into the month of July and boy oh boy is it ever hot. We have been
in the high 80's to mid-90's for quite sometime now. Sometimes, it gets unbearable
for me in the backyard (we spend a lot of time out there), so I had to take drastic measures,
to stay cool and comfortable.
My mom has a flower garden in the backyard with a lot of different flowers and a rather
large Azalea bush in it. After surveying the location, I thought this would be the perfect
place for me; so I started some excavating. In order for me to fit into the space I decided on, it
meant I had to do some "doggie gardening." Eight pink petunias had to go - and so they did.
After that little project, I dug a nice long deep hole so I could snuggle down into the cool
dirt. I positioned my "summer space" underneath the Azalea branches that offered me the
shade I needed that allowed me a good vantage place to look out over my domain.
My family didn't really mind the "rearranging" I did in the garden for they all said I looked
very comfortable, happy and quite content. The backyard garden has a new name now, it
is called "Emily's Garden."

Hope you enjoy the pictures we are sending along to you. Life in the Garden, Mama Sue -

IS GOOD.
Love,
Your Little Emily

Mike is home from the hospital~ :')

I was able to bring Mike home from the hospital yesterday, praise God!  He is feeling better, and I want to thank you all for the many prayers and sweet comments sent our way.  This was his third hospitalization since January.   The above picture was taken last year when Mike and I visited our Army son, David, in Savannah.  (I LOVE palm trees!)  LOL  Hopefully now I can get caught up on all the puppy pictures!  Thank you all for your patience....

Love to all,

Sue

Chloe from Lancaster, New York~ and Libby from Lewiston, New York~

Hello Mama Sue,

Hope you are doing well. I miss my High Calling Family but my new family is treating me pretty well. They love the way I like to cuddle between my mommy and daddy in the bed at night. I like taking naps with my brother Mike too. He will be going back to college soon so I will miss our naps together. On the Fourth of July we had a picnic and I met my half sister Libby for the first time. We barked at each other when we first met each other but we got used to each other after a little while. Libby shared some of her food with me and I shared some of mine with her.  I just want to be friends with all the dogs. I'm sending you a couple of pictures of Libby and I and another with our moms. We sure did have a fun day!

Love and big sloppy puppy kisses to you.

Watson from North Tonawanda, New York~

Hello Sue,
I hope you and your family had a wonderful 4th of July. I see you are very busy with alot of beautiful new puppies. I know whoever gets them will be so pleased to have a High Calling Cocker. We are so happy to have Mr. Watson in our lives. He is such a wonderful little guy. He is also so smart. He learned some new tricks in about 10 minutes one day  that I was teaching him. He is very protective of Me and my Husband. I took him today for a full grooming, they just love him there. He was a cool cucumber they said. They did a great job on him. I have enclosed a few pics from today. The one was Watson came home and climbed in the bathtub . I think he was saying I want another bath LOL. He loves the bath and if he could would love to have 1 everyday. Our oldest daughter came home for a visit a few weeks ago and she just loved him to pieces. Well... time to go play with the little guy.  Hope all is well in the Martin Household.

Love Dot, Dennis and Watson

P. S, The picture with Kat was before grooming.

Bella from Tuckaseegee, North Carolina~

Hi Mama Sue,

It's three year old Bella! I can't believe its been that long. I love my Mom and even Bethany (on occasion).
This is a photo of me taken earlier today. It was just too early to get up so I went back to sleep. It has really been hot here in the mountains.
I wanted to wish you and your family a very Happy 4th of July! Anyway, I guess I'd better get back to my nap but know I'll always love you and my real Mom and Dad too!

Tail wagging happiness,

Bella

Bethany from Tuckaseegee, North Carolina~

Hi Mama Sue,
Guess Who? It's me Bethany! Mom is sending some new photos of her "girls." We've had so many busy days it's hard to keep track. This photo is of me supervising Mom as she's fixing Blueberries! Wow, so many good fruits to try and to eat!
Bella and I want to wish you a very special and happy 4th of July! Some of our neighbors started their celebrations last night with loads of fireworks! Neither Bella or me like those sounds! Too loud and scary! We cuddle up to Mom when it starts!
Anyway, I'll go for now, give my Mom and Dad a little extra on the 4th and tell them I love my home in the mountains of North Carolina. A special warm wish to you and your family. Thanks again Mama Sue for letting me come to this special home!!

Tons of kisses and loads of cuddles,
Bethany
