Our cruise to the Bahamas 2016 on the Carnival Ecstasy, sailing out of Charleston, SC~

Mike took me on a cruise to the Bahamas this year for our 49th wedding anniversary.  I would like to share some of our pictures with my High Calling Cocker family!  We had an absolutely wonderful time!

We saw the Disney Dream pulling into port in Nassau...aka the "Mickey Boat".

Update on "Mama Sue"~

Hello to all my High Calling Cocker family!

Well, I know I promised you all an update around Thanksgiving time, but I've been so busy, I'm just getting around to it today!

Ladybug is enjoying being here in North Carolina, as she has the run of our big fenced in yard. She never seems to tire, playing fetch, and tennis balls are among her very favorite toys!

Our daughter, Katie, and her new baby boy, Caleb, will be arriving in January to stay with us for five months while her husband is in Air Force training. We've never met the little guy, as he was born in Hawaii and we were afraid the long flight would be too hard on my Sweet Boy. (Hubby...aka "Grumpy")

For now, I have "Danger" here with us, which is my black and white champion male. My daughter took him with her to Hawaii and she will be taking him when her husband is through training and gets to his new duty station. Ladybug and I are having a wonderful time with Danger here. He's so sweet and loving. She is really enjoying having someone to play with who speaks her "language". hehehe Who knows...I just might have puppies next year from these two. I'll have to give this a little more thought and prayer.

Thanksgiving was so busy here. We had a house filled with family, and I ended up cooking complete turkey dinners on both Thanksgiving and also the day afterwards.

Just before Thanksgiving, we went on our very first cruise. It was a five day junket to the Bahamas. We took our daughter Cheryl and her two little ones. We really had a ball, and are looking forward to going again someday soon. I will be adding pictures as I get around to it.

As most of you know, I have taken up quilting for a hobby and really enjoying it. I think my family is all "quilted out", so I have decided to sell the ones I make to help pay for the fabric I've invested in. You can see the quilts I have for sale at this link High Calling Quilts
I made a really cute "cocker quilt" for a precious friend. Here are some pictures of Andrea as she got the quilt out of the box.   Isn't she soooo pretty?  And her dogs are precious!

I am in the process of making some quilts for Christmas. If you are interested in any of them, please email me at MrsSusanMartin@aol.com

Please visit my quilt website to see what I have available.

I will be adding the Christmas quilts to my quilting blog soon.
I listen to worship music in my quilting studio as I create each quilt. They are truly a creation from my heart to your home.

I hope you all are enjoying this Advent season leading up to Christmas! It is my very favorite time of the year!

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for sending your son, Jesus Christ to redeem us!

God bless and keep you all!

Ranger from Las Vegas~ (formerly from Arkansas)

My little baby, Ranger, is five years old today!

I can still remember the day, five years ago, talking to you in the phone after Ranger had just been born. His mamma only had one baby, and he was going to be mine! 😘

He is the best puppy! He and his big lab sister, Heidi, just love each other! He and I do pet therapy visits every month and he lives up to his full name, Ranger Reader, by having little kids read to him every month. He's such a joy!

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Happy Halloween!

Don't eat too much candy....and keep the candy bags out of the reach of your precious doggies!

Love you all,

Life is good!

Hi Sue, Hope you have gotten settled in for your stay in NC. I have spent the morning marking applesauce. My neighbor went to Barber's Orchard and picked up a couple of their seconds (those apples which aren't for sell to grocery stores etc..) They sell them by the box and they have a mixture of Apple's. You get a really nice mix from sweet to sour for a much reduced price. She called and asked if I'd like some, Naturally, I was delighted to have some. We met at the fence and I picked out a bag full. When I was finished I just had to have some Along with a hot biscuit. The girls don't like apples the silly babies! They're really into the fall weather and walking in the leaves. I hope everyone is doing well and I will talk to you later. Call or write when you can.

Trying to catch up~ Tiffany from October 6th~

Hello to my High Calling Cocker family!

I am trying to catch up on everything I got behind on. Dearest Cherrie' had sent me pictures and emails and I didn't even have time to update them on the computer. So here is one of Tiffany, taken on Cherrie's birthday, Oct. 6th! Isn't she adorable? She is my Ladybug's sister!

I finished all the quilts that I intended to finish. Have sold two of them so far. I hope people love them as much as I do. If they don't find homes, I will most certainly enjoy them all around me!
I am working on my new quilting website which is www.highcallingquilts.com
If anyone has any suggestions about my new website...or about what type of quilts they think people would be interested in, I would most certainly welcome those suggestions.

Mike and I will be packing everything up to leave early next week. Please pray for traveling mercies for us! I know Ladybug will be happy to get back to our North Carolina home. We have a fenced-in yard there, so she can get a lot more exercise.

I will be adding the other quilts I have available as time permits. I can't wait to get back down south so I can start working on my Christmas quilts!

Have a blessed evening!

Smiling and waving,

Sue

My newest endeavor~ High Calling Quilting Creations~

Autumn Quilt #1 with Metallic-look fabric and some batik added.  The back is a fall themed beautiful batik.

Hello to all of my High Calling Family,

Mike and I are getting ready to travel to our North Carolina home. We would normally have gone before now, but turns out our newest granddaughter will be baptized this week, so we decided to stay for the ceremony.

I have begun my newest hobby of making couch quilts and baby quilts. I have several quilts available at this time. Three are an autumn theme, perfect for your Thanksgiving entertaining, or for a hostess gift for someone special you love who has invited you to share Thanksgiving dinner in their home. I will be starting Christmas quilts soon. They are $200 each and are handcrafted with much love...from my hands and heart to your home. I pray each one will bring much joy to the home they will adorn.

I have a new blog that you can view here: High Calling Quilts

If you are interested in obtaining one of my homemade quilts, please email me at MrsSusanMartin@aol.com
