Holly from Upper Jay, New York~

Dear Susan,
I just had to share this picture of a little baby girl named Maggie - who met Holly for the first time.

Her parents have been coming into my shop whenever they visit the Adirondacks - since before she

was born. Yesterday was the first time lil 10 mo. old Maggie met Holly - they got along just great!

As I said before - Holly takes her job as "Official Welcoming Committee" very seriously. She

was ever so gentle with this baby !

Bethany and Bella from Tuckasegee, North Carolina~

Hi Sue,
I hope you enjoy the photos of the girls. I was finally able to get a cute photo of both laying beside each other on the front porch. Usually, when I snap one or both have moved so I end up with a fleeting glimpse of them.

Bethany is growing up so fast! Of course part of it is by watching big sister Bella! She's about 99% house trained so we're working hard on that part. Once that's over all the other training is a bit easier. She loves attending puppy classes and has become a little social butterfly. She was so interested in everything else instead of listening to her commands. At least she wasn't the only one, the "Golden Retriever" puppy is also at the same stage. The trainer told us not to worry its just their little brains moving what they've learned from short term memory to their long term memory. In a few weeks they'll be back to following commands as long as we keep it up and are patient with them.

Bella's last class will be this Tuesday and then we'll be getting ready for the three major observations so we can be registered as a National Therapy Dog Team. Pray that we will pass these events. Bella is so amazing when she's "working" and everyone is so grateful when we come for our visits.

Right now we're back inside after the two girls as true "puppies" had a huge game of chase outside in the yard and around the house.

I hope everyone is doing well and continues to recover as our Lord intends. May each day be filled with many blessing and special friends.

Hugs and Tail Wagging Kisses,
Cherrie', Bella and Bethany

Holly from Upper Jay, New York~

Hi Susan,

Time is just soaring by and Holly is growing into a fine girl. Somedays we call her

Holly - somedays we call her Miss Chiff - and SOMEDAYS she is just plain MISS BEHAVING !

Most days we need to hurry off to the antique shop in the morning - where she takes

her job as "Official Greeter" very seriously. Today we have a day off so we started off

with a morning walk. This is a good picture of her and I wanted to share it.

Lil Holly is all tuckered out from playing. She LOVES her little bed - and in the evening -

during play time - she will hide her favorite toys under the cushion - and then burrow underneath to

retrieve them. It is the cutest thing and she gives us lots of laughs!

This black squirrel comes into the yard every morning for a breakfast meal of

fresh mushrooms. Holly loves it ! All we have to do is say - "Where's that

squirrel" and she runs to the sun room and looks out every window until she spys

it. She doesn't "woof woof" until after it is gone....she just intently watches it - sometimes

for 10 minutes.

Paul and Joanne visiting their new baby, Elliott~

Joanne and Paul flew in from Southport, Connecticut today to see their new baby, Elliott.  We had a lovely visit, and they brought me a yummy fresh peach pie!   :")
What a precious couple they are.  I am so happy to welcome such wonderful people into my
High Calling Cocker family!!!!

Cooper from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas~

Hello Mrs. Martin,

I hope that this email finds you well. We are enjoying Cooper so much! Sean has quickly become attached to Cooper. I am attaching a picture of Sean and Cooper with this email message.

We are enjoying playing with him and training him...although I must say, he is a quick learner. In the matter of days he learned that in order to not stay outside in the heat..he just needs to do his business so that he can go back inside. Of course he plays outside but we wait until the evenings because it is so darn hot here. He sleeps in a crate close to our bed and never makes a sound until we wake up. He is so good! Thank you for him!

Bethany and Bella from Tuckasegee, North Carolina~

Bella - Therapy Dog

Bethany Willow

Hi Sue,

I'm sorry I haven't written or sent photos yet. I know you can hardly wait to see Bethany and Bella. I'm planning on getting the photos this weekend, my computer won't let me upload, I have to take them to the drugstore's photo center.

But, let me tell you about my girls. They have worked everything out! Praise be!! You should see them play both inside and outside. WOW, they get more exercise than I could ever give them from just a walk. If we could bottle that we'd never run out of energy. Emma and little Charlie love playing with them too.

Bethany is still learning when big sister Bella gives her a low guttural growl she means that's enough! Bella will put Bethany in her place and sometimes it takes a little more attitude to get the message across. If it gets a little more vocal than necessary I remind Bella to back off. Bethany will "scream" and flips over on her back but there isn't any injuries it's her response to being put in her place. I always keep an eye on both of them. Pastor Syd and Sharon gave excellent advice on just letting them work things out. Naturally, I was terrified and afraid Bella would hurt Bethany. But, Bella has only given her two nips which were very gentle, the rest is just a great deal of vocalization and dominate stance over Bethany (I always watch them like a hawk).

Bethany is what I call a morning puppy! She's up and ready for the world as soon as the dawn breaks. However, Bella is more of an afternoon gal. Bethany will race in and do everything she can to get Bella up to play. This usually works but Bella doesn't like to go full force that early! She'll remind Bethany sternly, but once she's gone out to the bathroom, games on! They race around the house, yard and on the inside! Then they'll take a break and games on once more! So funny to watch. This is so good for Bella!

Everyone loves Bethany at her puppy class! She's so funny to watch and has just entered the "social butterfly stage." Too cute for words! Everyone is amazed at her abilities and how well she follows directions for such a young puppy (when she hasn't found a leaf to play with). There are 10 puppies in the class so needless to say it's fun! You should see them socialize!

Bella is the star of her skill class! Everyone says she's the professional and is amazing. I think all the dogs are great and many things come with time and experience. I'll miss going to both classes when they're over.

I'll send a photo of Bella and Bethany in their Service Dog in Training uniforms. When they have them on each knows it's time to work! They both love going to the Nursing Center. Bella and I have just started going to the newly constructed Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in our area. Everyone there loves her and can't get over how well behaved she is!
I'll write soon and get those photos to you.
Much love,

Cherrie', Bella, and Bethany

Shane from Oyster Bay, New York~

Hi Susan:

I took the day off today, and took the time this morning to make a pitcher of Juice with my Jack-La-Lanne juicing machine.

Shane seemed really interested in what I was doing, so I gave him a small sample. He really loved it.

When he looked up at me after he was finished, I really laughed.

As you can see, there were carrots in the juice, along with celery, apples, and tomatoes.

I didn't give him too much, and it didn't seem to bother his digestion.

Shane is such a joy! My best buddy. He is about 22 pounds now, and almost ready for another trip to the groomer. (It has been pretty hot here on Long Island, so it might help him feel cooler)

Shane is really nimble and athletic, and is great at catching little hackeysack balls, and sometimes tennis balls.

He also loves the frisbee.

I see your other little boy puppies that are available, and wish I had the room for one more--or all of them. Who wouldn't fall in love with those little faces.

Aspen from Sparks, Nevada~

I have a moment to send you some updated pictures of Aspen. The picture from the tractor is Apsen is getting ready to mow. Dennis is rebuilding a 1949 8N tractor to take up to our property in Ruby Valley to mow the 10 acres.

She loved the view as it made it easer for her to see what was going on in the neighbor hood and the one picture of her standing alone is just so you can see how she has grown. I hope you enjoy the pictures. All the new little ones are adorable. It sure has been a busy year for you. The wedding pictures were beautiful.

Thinking of you fondly,
Valeri & Aspen

Lacey from Lewiston, New York~

Our family reunion was today at Fort Niagara. Lacey was the hit of the party of course.

Her biggest fan, my 1 year old little cousin who just learned how to walk last week.

She walked Lacey all over the park :) It was so darn cute....

Gracie from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania~

Hi Mamma Sue,
When I sent you that note a few days ago, I forgot to mention that Gracie is now 10 lbs. 14 oz and growing each day. She had two vaccines at the Vet two Saturdays ago and Dr. Sarsfield said I didn't think she could get any cuter when I saw her a month ago, but she did! He then gave her a kiss on her forehead. Gracie really is an adorable little puppy and I truly love her dearly.  Gracie is the sweetest little puppy anyone could ever hope for the majority of the time and she just gets prettier as she is getting older - now she is a whole 3 1/2 months! I think I mentioned before Gracie is the most precious in the mornings - she is so glad to see me and the best part is those kissy, kisses! My son and grandchildren (14 & 5) just love her so much. It is fun to see them play together and Gracie can

be so comical - she has brought us alot of love and happiness in such a short period time.
Hope you had a blessed Sunday, Sue. And thank you for allowing us to acquire this little sweetheart of a puppy.
Gracie sends you hugs and kisses!
Love,
Janet
