Abby from Williamsville, New York~

Susan, it's been a long while since I've posted to you about Abby. That's not to say Abby hasn't been posted about, photographed, scrapbooked, grown, and loved! She is notorious about NOT having her picture taken! Every time I get a really cute moment, camera in hand ready to shoot - she moves, turns away, sniffs the camera and ruins the shot. I had a few older photos I attached to this e-mail. Not sure exactly what they are of, but I think they are of Abby at Christmas.

Abby just passed her first birthday and as a present - she was spayed! I know, couldn't we have timed this better! She did fine, had a chip implanted and was her rambunctious self within a day or so.

Since she came home to us she had been confined to our main living area, the family room, the kitchen and the Florida room, which is also her exit to the backyard. We had gates up barring her from the upstairs and the living room. Well, little puppies will grow and get stronger so we decided to open the rest of the house to her to have a free-range dog. We're still making adjustments and she is like a tornado going from room to room - frustrated by closed doors, but just zooming all around the house!

My mother-in-law just adores Abby! Almost every week she brings home another toy, stuffed animal, or treat for Abby. They have a love fest as my mother-in-law calls it when the two of them are alone.

Abby has discovered, among other things, her voice, a love of all things tissue related, socks and the ultimate play/danger zone - her teenage sister's room! We've resorted to putting the gate on Alexa's room because Abby won't stay out of it and Alexa won't clean it! There is no winning with our girls (except every day!)

I kept tabs on Abby's puppy mom Jingles, looking forward to her next litter. Congratulations on her little girls! There are days that Abby looks so much like her puppy mom. The other day she was sitting in her crate with one paw hanging out and her head up and she looked just like the Jingles picture on the web site!

I still check out the High Calling Blog and your web site on a regular basis, not only following the dogs but your family. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and milestones. You have a lovely family. Take care and stay well.

Yours truly, Donna, Norman, Alexa and Abby
