National Day of Prayer~
Today, Thursday, May 7,2009, is the 58th Annual National Day of Prayer. This day was declared a national day of prayer by President Abraham Lincoln. The theme this year is, "Prayer, America's Hope". Please take a moment today to pray for our country, its leaders, and the world. Each of us needs to acknowledge our shortcomings and wrong doings, and ask for the Lord's forgiveness. There is none righteous, no,not one. May the Lord have mercy on us as a nation, and also on each one of us as individuals. I ask Him to forgive me and wash me clean by His precious, shed blood. The Bible says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Won't you humble yourself and pray today? Trust that He will hear you, as you come to Him with a repentant heart. Please, Lord, accept our heartfelt apologies for all we have done which saddened and disappointed You, and all we have not done to please You. Please forgive us all for our sins, "clean us up" and make us worthy of bearing Your Name. Renew us,in Jesus Christ's Holy Name, Thank you, Lord. Amen.
