"Bailey Glory" from Buffalo, New York~

Christmas 2011
Hi Sue!

Here are two of the three photos I chose from our visit to Santa last night. The third is going on our card and due to a snafu at the mall I haven’t been able to get a downloadable copy of that one yet. It was a little chaotic trying to choose them. I left without my CD, so I’m picking that up today, and the number on the third photo that I want for our card takes me to the second photo. It will all be fixed today, though. Fortunately, Santa was willing to hold onto Curley and Bailey for a bit longer while I picked out my photos and packages and one of the other ladies was glad to hold onto Chica. Chica was not as glad after she accidently stepped on her little paw J….

The kids could not have been better behaved for me, which was great since Alex wasn’t able to get home in time. When I couldn’t find a close parking spot I opted to pay the $5 for valet parking as it was right outside the mall entrance where Santa was. No one peed, pooped or barked! And they LOVED all the people that came over to meet them. Curley and Bailey loved having their photos taken, as you can tell. Chica, on the other hand, was interested in looking everywhere BUT at the camera, which is always the way as you can tell from the photo from last year that I’ve attached as well. I can’t wait to go back again next year! Hopefully Alex will be able to join us as I’d like to get individual photos in addition to our family shots.

If any of your families in the area are interested, pet hours at Galleria are Mondays from 6-8. The ladies and Santa are so wonderful to us every time we go. They remembered me from last year with Peanut and Chica and were sad to find out we’d lost him a few days later. They go above and beyond for us (and because it’s designated pet hours we jump to the front of the line, too!). I have never come across any other dogs there at the same time I’ve gone, unlike other places where they only do it for one day, so everyone is there with their pets.

Enjoy your day!

Love,

Sarah & Bailey

Cosby at 8 weeks with his new family
Cosby One Year Old~

Dearest Sue,

Your blog is so special to many of us all around the world. It seems you gain an easy and almost 1,000 in a week and a half or less with new and old viewers. I try to keep count and celebrate by telling Clay you're this many and now you're that many..lol....almost it will be 63,000 views. I always want you to remember how special of a person you are to me and that God uses you through your special breeding and many wonderful pictures of these cockers with their families. We don't take you for granted, we pray and thank God for you and what hard work you always put into this. I am so thanful that I've met you and was chosen or somehow destined to meet you and this wonderful website and family blog to be a part of. I just saw Annabelle's pic in her owner's front seat too...lol..how adorable. No matter where you go, Sue, or what your retirement may do...just know I am so fortunate to have met you and thank you for bringing Cosby into my life. The bond that God has put between me and Cosby is such an answered prayer, and we all become a closer and happier family with Cosby living with us in our home. He is just like one of our children and I hope God will never let me lose Cosby sooner than it would be expected. I know dogs don't live forever, but told Clay if something ever did happen and you were still breeding, that would give me hope. Clay wants to give the kids their own High Calling Cocker one day as they have their own home or are college students. Which you may have retired by then..lol....I guess we would have to double-up on dogs right before you go...lol. Have a good night and know you are so loved by me and so many of us. Your blog represents love and compassion and to sum it all up, it's like Christ's love. We have love and hope in these cockers and this wonderful blog...so thank you, from the bottom of my heart and good night.

God richly bless you,

Sherry

"Bentley" from Buffalo, New York~

Hi Sue
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

What a beautiful day we had here in Buffalo NY....It was wonderful!! Had a great day with my family at my house. Bentley did very well with everyone here.

All is going very well. Bentley will be 6 months in just a few days. He has been truly a joy! He just graduated from Puppy Class last week. We are now going to an intermediate class. Everybody that sees him falls in love with him. He is a handsome pup! Still goes to bed around 8 to 8:30. He is about 16 lbs of pure energy! He has the most beautiful coat. When I took him to get neutered, the vet did the IV in his front leg and shaved his fur quite a bit. I was not too happy...have to wait till it grows in and have him groomed so it is even.
I still need to get together with Sarah and Miss Bailey Glory before the snow comes.
Well...I have to work Friday till 1pm....hopefully the rain will hold off so I can take my pal out walking.

Best to you and yours!

Hi Mama Sue,

It's me Emily, hoping you had a nice Thanksgiving with most
of the Martin family there with you. We had a very nice day,
we spent most of it eating and watching football on TV.
I had two turkeys on Thanksgiving; one to eat and the other to
play with; every room I went into "My Little Tom Turkey" came
with me. Hope you like the pictures.
Dolly's baby boys sure are cute.
Take good care Mama Sue and remember I love you lots.

Happy Thanksgiving from Mama Sue!

I want to wish all of my dear High Calling Cocker family the most blessed Thanksgiving ever!  I am so very blessed to have such wonderful friends and such a precious family!  I have met such wonderful people through my cocker spaniels who will be dear friends forever.  I can't even imagine being more blessed than I am already.  It is true that my life isn't 100% where I want it to be, with some of my family members not with us.  I miss my parents very much.  My son, Chad and his wife Annette and little baby Madison have moved to Charlotte, and I won't see them until next May.  And my son David is serving with the infantry in Afghanistan.  They are truly missed.
The many kindnesses shown me over the years by my High Calling Cocker family members have truly made my life so abundantly enriched. I am truly at a loss for words to explain how very full of joy I am over each and every one of you.  I will always treasure your friendships, your support and encouragement!  I thank you from the bottom of my heart. May our good and gracious God give you His peace and happiness all throughout the upcoming holidays and all through the new year ahead.

With much love for the happiest of Thanksgivings,

Mama Sue

Tribute to Scott~

This fine man was only 48 years old and lost his battle to cancer. He was a dear friend of Pickles' family, Mike and Annette.

From Annette:

Scott was 48 and suffered colon cancer. He was diagnosed only 8 months ago and he fought the hard battle. All smiles he was even until the end. He was a good man.
Thank you for your kind words. He leaves behind a 20 year old daughter, 21 year old son and adorable wife he met in high school We were lucky enough to know them all for 20 plus years.

From Sue:            This is so sad....Pleae say a prayer for Scott's family...and also for Mike and Annette....for comfort in their sadness. God be with them all.

Hi Mama Sue,

We had a very stressful day here as we had to attend the funeral of a very good and long time friend. It was so nice to come home to a happy Pickles. Thought you might like to see her in her bows and bandana. She is so pretty

Have a great Thanksgiving. Promise to eat too much, laugh till your tummy hurts, and let the dishes go until morning!

"Ranger" from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas~

Hi Sue,

Had to share the picture of Ranger and Heidi all decked out in their Halloween costumes ready to go trick-or-treating. They were quite a hit!

Ranger completed his Beginner Obedience and is taking his Canine Good Citizen class so he can get certified to be a therapy dog. He's the star pupil! :)

Hope you and your family are doing well!

Cosby and his freshly groomed face

Hi Sue!!

So glad to get back on the blog and say hello to everyone. HI YAW!!!!! I hope you and all our
High Calling blog family is doing ok with that bad Sandy coming by. The last time I talked with you, was when Hurricane Issac was coming near us down here in Florida. We were all ok in our panhandle but it started to go toward Louisanna at the time, in August.

Sorry, I haven't posted since then. I want to say though that I still love to see our family blog about almost every single day!! Bailey Glory's mom, Sarah, reminds me of myself blogging in about when Cosby was younger. She's a sweetie and I could tell like me, she loves to talk or type...lol. I just love the presents she sent you. I had to show Clay about the ornaments, wow, I love the Willow Tree collection, with the dog. I collect some of them, but would love to get that angel and dog one!! Also glad to hear about baby Madison getting stronger and is able to be home with Chad and family in their new BEAUTIFUL home!! Also love seeing Toby and Archie on the blog, I call them the "classics" ..lol...like Drummer Boy and Cubby Jr. and Bailey. Glad to see Susan and George go on a nice trip this past summer! Speaking of that I wonder how's Natasha and Sharon and Lou?? Maybe they made it back home to Florida!! Thanks, Sue, for all the beautiful summer pics of their trip that you borrowed "stealed" from their blog..lol Well I must run, keep Clay in your prayers, today he is doing a lot better then the last few weeks. And Caleb is still making straight A's and playing piano wonderfully. We are so proud of his baptism just the other day in church! We are so blessed to have such great loving children who love us and the Lord too!! Praying always for Mike and all your family who serve in our country. God Bless EVERYONE!!

In His Love,

Sherry and Family

The "Duke of Wesley" from Delmar,California~

Hi Susan,

Thanks to people like you who step out and take a stand the world will be a better place!

May our country be blessed by more like you and your precious puppies as we certainly have.

Thank you.

Our Duke of Wesley has been and continues to be a wonderful blessing.

He has a good mind, very obedient, willing to learn especially with treats, and curious about

everything. He is best friends with our Chocolate lab, is now allowed on our bed and has an even better

nose than our lab! When he plays we call him the "Brazilian Ninja" from his sire I believe. Lots of serious

play and lots of love to give!

We walk the beach and Del Mar hills everyday and the shores of the Pacific ocean as well. I'm sure

Duke can't believe he is from the East Coast as he has clearly become comfortable with California Living.

He comes to work with me everyday at our old Del Mar Train Station and is quite content to be at my feet.

I love him dearly and know he is from good breeding!

I do hope you and all your friends were not affected by the Superstorm Sandy. We continue to pray for all

the casualities and loss.

May God have His hand on the election, our families, and our country!

Blessings, Trace Ann
