Lacey from Lewiston, New York~

Hi Sue,

My parents took these pictures and thought I should share them with you as they were amazed.

We sat down to watch a movie and Lacey crawled on my lap, got comfortable and snored (loudly)

through the entire movie. She cracked everyone up not only with the snoring from such a little

dog but also by the position she napped in for almost two hours. This is their first time

meeting her and although, I had described her to them and sent pictures, they can't believe

some of the things she does (keep in mind Lacey is one of 5 dogs here along with 2 cats )

She is in her GLORY !!!! And living up to everything I have said about her....good and bad :)

On a good note, she has not had one accident here ..... I can't believe it, this trip may have

been good in SO MANY WAYS !!!!!!

Dixon (Macaroni) from Columbus, Mississippi~

I received this delightful Christmas card with picture and note inside.  Dixon is a puppy whelped in early October of 2009.  What a beautiful dog he has become!

Dear Sue,

Merry Christmas to you and your family! Dixon was a little distracted by the other dogs in his Santa picture.  Children of all ages played with him, and he was friendly to them all.  We drove to Birmingham, Alabama for the Santa picture and he was a great little traveler.  He has his own travel bag with food, water, bowls and toys.  (B'hamn is 120 miles away.)

This past weekend we noticed that he was not us usual "active" self, so Tim and Christian took him to the doctor.  He has tonsillitis, and you should see how good he takes his medicine.  Tim says he's expecting him to talk any day now!

I need to have someone take a picture of him sitting upright, facing forward in the chair with me at night after Christian goes to bed.  You will have to see it to believe it!  He's so precious!

Sue, thanks again for this little miracle!  I wish that we lived closer.

Oh, one more thing, he still carries the little toy around that you sent home with him.  It is very worn and practically flat, but when he's playing with it, I imagine him thinking of his Buffalo family where he got such a great start in life!

Happiness and special blessings to you!

Love and gratitude,

Tim, Nancy, Christian & Dixon

Hi Sue,
Hope you had a great Christmas. Since I am in between jobs we decided to take off

for a road trip to Tennessee to see my parents. Due to the numerous snow storms

we had to drive through and my big fat ohio speeding ticket (oops) the 12 hour ride

took over 14 but we are here safe and sound. Lacey was an absolute ANGEL, I would

take her ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. She did not make a peep the whole way here, well except

to give the officer a lick when he handed me my ticket, gee thanks Lacey...ha ha

I enclosed a pic of her lounging by the window taking in the beautiful Kentucky

scenery............What a great dog !!

Have a great holiday

Chris

I stole these pictures off Carol's facebook.  I thought they were just tooooo cute to not share with our entire High Calling Cocker family!!!

Bella and Bethany from Tuckaseegee, North Carolina~

Good Morning Sue,

We have eight inches of snow on the ground and it's still snowing! I'm sending a few photos of the girls. My prayers are for you to get some rest, don't overdo and get well soon! I'm doing well, my right ankle gives me problems on some days but our Lord lets me continue, praise His name.

I took Bella on Christmas Eve to visit everyone at the nursing centers. It was so great and they can't get enough of her love. I'm planning on taking Bethany on Tuesday, if we're thawed out!

We had our traditional Christmas Eve big family dinner everyone made it in except for two of my nieces, my brother's two daughters. Geoff is on leave but will be heading back to Italy and he may be returning to Afghanistan. My nephew, David was able to come from Japan so we're extremely happy! My prayers continue for your David and family.
Much love,

Cherrie', Bella and Bethany

Sparky from Astoria, Illinois~

Hello Mama Sue,

Merry Christmas from me, Sparky! Mommy has sent you many pictures because she said you get misty eyed, when you see all of the High Calling Cockers in their forever homes. I hope that means you are happy. You can pick out the pictures you want to use on the blog, but she just wanted you to see that Christmas was good to me. I got a big puppy with a big head for Christmas. His head is bigger than my head. We had a very white Christmas, some of the family did not get to come Christmas Eve because the roads were bad. We still had our dinner, and I really enjoyed all the people. This little girl came and she played the piano. You know Mama Sue, I remember when you and your family use to play for all of us puppies. It makes me so happy to hear piano music. My Mommy said she thought your church was just beautiful, and she is pretty sure the music was too. She also said the nice girl Katie, who helped take care of me, when I was little, is engaged, I guess that is pretty special!

Just wanted to send you these Christmas pictures, and I hope the rest of the Holiday season is great for all my High Calling Cockers' family.

Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy New Year!

Blessings to you All.

Love, Sparky and Linda
Merry Christmas!

Hi Mama Sue,

How are you? We, Nicholas & I are doing well. Our mommy & daddy told us that tomorrow we will be 1 year old! They also told us that it is Christmas! That makes us extra special! We will be celebrating the holiday with family and friends. After our Christmas feast to say thank you for all of our blessings, we will have a party to celebrate our birthday! We really are very special mama Sue! Our mommy and daddy could not be more grateful for us coming into their life at such a difficult time for them. We have a memories wall in our house at Christmas time. All of the special pets who have passed on have a Christmas stocking with their name & picture of them. This year the special memory goes to Bailey. He has been passed 1 year ago this month. They miss him very much. However, I myself, Kringle resemble Bailey in many things I do. Because of this, I make them very proud and happy. I filled the saddened space for them!

Arnold is doing well. He just had his birthday and he turned 9. He still runs faster than us though!

Nicholas is Nicholas. He always has something in his mouth as he trots around the place. Funny guy he is. He doesn't even care what he carries. It could be a ball, a stick, a clean, now dirty sock we pulled of the clothes line, any toy, he isn't particular. He always wants to be running and climbing on things. Mommy says he is a mountain goat! Me on the other hand, I would rather have my daddy rub my belly. I like to sit on the couch and watch TV. I am REALLY spoiled.

We get big boy dog food now, no more puppy food! We are very active, and we run out in our yard every day, play ball and stuff like that. We chase each other in circles trying to catch each other, it is fun.

We have a bath more often now than before. We are always getting dirty and our hair gets tangled. We are OK with this whole process.

We are starting to get used to riding in the truck. It gets easier each time, and less throwing up all over the truck. Yuck.

I hope you like the pictures we are sending you. Mommy tries real hard to take our picture nice, but Nicholas can't sit still long enough, and I just really don't care for being photographed. hhmmm.

We wanted to say Merry Christmas to you and your human family as well as the furry type family members, like us! We also want to say thank you for giving us such a nice family, they really love us all very much.

We will talk to you again soon. Maybe I will let mom take pictures for the Christmas festives and our birthday party.......Maybe.

Happy Holidays,

Love Kringle & Nicholas.

P.S. Mom wants to say something to you too.

Hello Sue,

We wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think about how thankful we are for our babies. Thank You! Holiday blessings to you and your family.

Love,

Karlene & Dave

Merry Christmas from Mama Sue!!!!

My church, St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church

To my friends and loved ones,
I am sitting here all misty-eyed this morning, as I went to my blog and scrolled down at the precious Christmas pictures of your High Calling Cocker puppies that you have all sent me. I am truly blessed.

I had a house-full of family and friends last evening, with much joy all around.

Today one of my sons and his bride (married in September) are taking off for a belated honeymoon in Hawaii. Mike and I were married there 43 years ago, and I am looking forward to pictures from them. I hope they have a wonderful time.
I guess the big news is that our daughter, Katie, became engaged to her precious Jon last evening. Jon graced her with his grandmother's diamond. (breathtaking!) What a beautiful couple they make! Jon is a cadet at the Air Force Academy and I know they will have a wonderful life together.

Our church service last night was an absolutely beautiful candlelight service. There are no words to describe how beautiful the church looked from my position in the organ loft, with the lights all turned down, everyone holding a candle, and Silent Night being played. My daughter Jennifer sang O Holy Night and Breath of Heaven. Another dear friend sang Mary, Did You Know. It was just a really wonderful service, remembering the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We, at High Calling Cockers wish you all the most blessed Christmas ever!!!! I love you all!

Mary from Grand Junction, Colorado (Drummer's Mommy)~

Do you have lots of snow? It's 50 degress here and not a flake in sight!

:o( No white Christmas for us this year. Every year I would make a 12-inch
high snowman from an early December snow and put him in the freezer just in
case we didn't have a white Christmas. I would pull him out on Christmas
morning and set him on the livingroom windowsill (outside, of course!) so that
I could pretend that we had snow! We haven't even had enough snow to do that!
I've attached a picture. That year we had snow, but I still put him up there.

Bojangles from Ware, Massachusetts~

Hi there Momma Sue, it sure has been awhile. I didn't include any pictures of me as my Mom has been busy with work and trying to do some shopping. She said she would get some taken during Xmas. I was told my sister Emily is just like me!!! Our Xmas tree went up on Friday with just lights, I kept trying to bite on the branches at first and then yesterday there were pretty balls put on the tree. They were too pretty to just look at, so I took one, bad thing to do. Now Daddy says he is going to put an electric fence around the tree, of course he is kidding - he thinks he is so tough!! There aren't any presents, but every time Mom comes home with new bags, I keep trying to check them out cuz I heard her tell Daddy that one was for me and it had lots of new toys in it.

I am going to school, graduation is next Monday night. I am doing pretty good, can't seem to get "leave It'. But I do really well with come, wait, sit, down and even hand signals with no words. I have a new friend that walks with me in the park every so often. Mom lets me run with the leash just dangling when Asher my friend is with us, it is fun and I sleep really well after all the exercise and playing with my new friend.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I am a BIG boy now too! I get to sleep with Mom and Daddy every so often. It is so nice and warm and cozy with them. I just lay down between them and go right to sleep and hardly move all night. Mom says I can't do this every night because sometimes she ends up with no room in the bed because I can be really long sometimes. I now weight 29 lbs.

Hugs and kisses

Emily from Massachusetts~

Hi Mama Sue,

Christmas week is here. My house is all decorated with pretty lights and candles and a big tree is standing in a corner with lights and ornaments on it and presents underneath it. Honestly Mama Sue, I really did try to be good about the tree and for a little while I was, but the temptation was just to much for me. First I took a bite out of it and then grabbed a red ornament off it and ran away with it. This, of course, did not go over very well and soon two gates went up around the tree. My mother says next Christmas, when I am older, maybe we won't need gates.

I am sending you a couple of pictures of my brother, Tim, and me; one of us dancing to a Dean Martin Christmas CD and another of us heading out for walk to the park. I am wearing my new green sweater and green velvet collar with jingle bells on it. So far we haven't had snow here in Quincy, but they tell me it definitely is coming real soon. I don't know what snow is, but they say I'll have fun playing in it and I sure like to play.

Have a Merry Christmas Mama Sue.

Love,

Your Little Emily

Archie and Toby from Pennsylvania~

Hi Mama Sue,

How are you doing? I see that you are the proud grandma of a new little baby boy,oh, I'll bet he fits nicely in your arms. I hope and pray that mommy and baby are both doing well from this early arrival. He probably just wanted to be here in plenty of time to see Santa!

I would love to send you a picture of Archie and Toby as I have this camera that takes some wonderful pictures but I just can't figure how to do that without running to the store and having a CD made, so very frustrating. Anyway, the boys are doing just super! They sat on Santa' s lap the other week and had their pictures taken which I will just send to you the old fashioned way, by U.S. Postal Service! They both were so very well behaved! Santa held Toby first for his picture and then held Archie for his. Santa then asked if I wanted a photo with them both, so I siad that we could try. Well, they both kept an eye on me as I stood behind the photographer, what good boys!

On December 14, Toby went to the vet to be neutered and he weighed in at 12 pounds! Archie at the same age was 19 pounds, what a big difference. Toby is such a peanut but he certainly gives Archie a run for his money, as Toby is the little instigator in the races that occur nightly ( sometimes morning as well ) in our yard. He has discovered that if he runs in a straight line Archie has no trouble catching him, however if he zigs and zags, well then Archie can not catch him nearly as well. You stay out of the way when they are racing. Being only 2 days since the surgery, Toby is not allowed to run or harrass Archie! This is quite frustrating for him! But while Toby was at the vet having surgery, Archie spent 3 hours at Kutztown University participating in their Pet Therapy Day. This is a day that is held once a semester and held during finals week. The purpose of course is to give the college students some therapy and have them be more relaxed during their tests. We met with many students and Archie loved all of the attention especially the belly rubs. He did some of his tricks and made the kids laugh! The organizer told me that she never met such a nice cocker spaniel and that he is an ambassador for all cocker spaniels!

I wish you and your family a very Blessed Christmas and a Healthy New Year!

Hugs from me and wet sloppy kisses from Archie and Toby,

Love,

Kathy
