Drummer Boy from Grand Junction, Colorado~
Hi, Sue!
I've been meaning to write but I've been so busy this week.
I'm so glad to know that Scott and Rachel's wedding went beautifully! The
pictures on the blog show such a happy couple! I was praying for all of you
last Saturday!
Have all of the puppies been delivered now? I see that Sophie's litter is 6
weeks already! And Timmy is such a doll! And the 3 little boys from Rosie's
litter - WOW!
I wish that there was a way that I could convince people who are looking for a
puppy from you to really consider taking one of your little boys. This may
surprise you, but I was scared to death to get Little Drummer Boy because he
was male. All I had ever owned were females. I was concerned about all of the
little boy stuff. I was afraid that I was going to lose all of my flowers and
bushes; that a good tummy rub would be limited due to certain anatomy; that he
would be very territorial around other males; etc. LOL! Granted, Drummer is
only 9 1/2 months old, but already all of those fears have faded away. He is
an absolute JOY! My flowers and bushes are unscathed, he gets a lot of good
tummy rubs, and he loves other dogs and people! I would really encourage them
to take the plunge like I did. I know that they wouldn't regret it!
Drummer has been enjoying his summer by lying under the vent for our air
conditioner! We've had some very hot weather, so we haven't been taking our
morning walks very often. It's just too hot - even early in the morning. We'll
get back into the swing of things once it cools down a bit.
I've attached a few pictures of Drummer and me enjoying playing with some
bubbles. He loves chasing and jumping after them. I'm amazed that Glenn got
these pictures because our camera is sooooooo slooooow. LOL!
I'll be praying for you and your family! BTW, how's the remodel coming along?
Been there, done that!
Lots of hugs!
Mary :o)

Gracie from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania~
Dear Mamma Sue,
Just wanted you to know Gracie is doing fine - eating and going to the bathroom well. We have an accident occasionally but whenever we take her out she always goes for us so that's a beginning.
In the evening from about 7-10:00 PM she turns into a little devil. And that's when I call her Tic Tac and I don't know why, but that is her Dad's name. But I say it lovingly!! I believe Gracie has her Dad's eyes and nose and her Mom's eyebrows. She is so darn cute - I can't stay mad at her when she misbehaves. But all in all Gracie is very loving in the mornings and very kissy, kissy. We have a good time together and she loves people especially kids. I bet she misses your farm and all the siblings and you and your kids. Gracie loves to play ball and she has lots of toys to play with. I can't get over how much she really likes to play ball - it plays her out and then she takes a sleep.
We walk around the yard alot-she gets plenty of exercise. Gracie sleeps in increments of 3-4 hours; I am hoping that as she gets older she'll sleep the whole night through. The neighbors just love her.
I have been thinking of you and your family and wondering how many puppies you may have left. Does your place feel empty yet? I guess there will be another litter coming someday and you'll do this all over again.
Sue, it was a pleasure meeting you and your husband - just wish we had more time to get to know you. Gracie is right beside me as I write this note to you and she is sending big hugs and kisses your way.
Have a blessed good night - keep in touch.

Mr. Bojangles from Ware, Massachusetts~
Hi Momma Sue, it's me Mr Bojangles, my new momma calls me the devil dog. As you can see by my pictures, I really don't look like a devil - I am an angel! I have been to the vet and received shots last week and didn't even know it. I was sooo good. My vet even took a picture of me on her cell phone - she really likes me. Next week, I get to meet my groomer - Momma says I need a haircut, that I am much too fuzzy around the eyes. I still miss my mommy - Starr and my sisters and brother. Hope they are all doing well. I do love my new home, lots of yard to run in and I especially love to terrorize the flower gardens and eat the flowers.
Momma doesn't like that too much. I love seeing my Daddy come home everyday and running out to greet him and give lots of kisses to him. I sometimes nibble his nose because I am soo excited. I have even managed to go up down all of the stairs in the house and outside. That potty thing, that isn't going very well, I don't know why I can't piddle where ever I want too, what's the big deal! Just wanted to say hi to you and everyone else.
Hugs & kisses,
Bojangles & Carol
Archie from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania~
Hi Mama Sue,
I just wanted to update you on Archie. He has been a very busy boy lately. This past Sunday, he attended church services with us, his 2nd Sunday Service! The Pastor always finds a way to include Archie's presence in his sermon. Monday night he went with his dog class to a miniature golf and driving range. On this visit, we actually played a round of miniature golf! I must admit, this did not go very well, as Archie had a VERY difficult time NOT chasing the little ball. Finally, on the last couple of holes, I gave up or maybe gave in and left him have the ball. I led him to the "hole" where I showed him the special treat that I had with me. Telling him to "drop it" into the hole, he then got the treat! Not sure how many strokes this would account for but then again, I did not have enough hands for a pencil and scorecard. Afterwards, he got to hang out with his dog friends and got a taste of my "sticky bun" icecream and my daughter's mint chip icecream.
Today he went to work as a therapy dog visiting the local elementary school where he was read to by several learning support children. He did exceptionally well with the children, especially a little boy with multi-disabilities and was admired by the staff. The children giggled when he did several tricks for them. One teacher's aide asked me if he was a show dog!
I know that you hear this often, but I can't say enough what a wonderful temperament he has. He is so tolerant of all situations and wants to great everyone that he meets. My daughter and I are always checking your website to see how your puppies are doing. We get excited when it is time for a litter to go to their forever home as we know the joy that we have had since Archie came to his forever home! God Bless you Sue and your family and we keep you in our prayers always!
Love and many many doggy kisses,
Kathy

Lacey from Lewiston, New York~
Hi Sue,
I tell you...Lacey is getting harder and harder to photograph now.
I did get a few, but I laugh because most are not worth sending.
She is so quick and my camera has such a delay that when I go back to
see how the picture came out, there's nothing but grass, or whatever
but........NO LACEY !!
Lacey and Scooby are pretty much inseperable now, she MUST do whatever
Scooby does....there is a picture of an old tree stump in the yard and
they wrestle over who is going to stand on the stump and who will not
they can both fit on the stump but for some reason only one can get on.
This time Scooby was first, and as soon as he gets off, she jumps at
her chance to get on ....ha ha...but it is usually short lived because
he has already found something else to get into, and he could
never find mischief without his partner in crime :)
But for as much as she loves Scooby, her favorite thing in the house is our
cat. She wrestles with that poor cat, she talks to that cat, she growls, whines
you can't imagine how much noise is in this house at 530am and the cat is such
a good sport, she takes MOST of whatever Lacey has to dish out....and at the
end of the day, they all sleep together
She can get in and out of the pool (her baby pool) by herself. She is elated
at any accomplishment she makes. Once she learns something she does it over and
over, with her butt wiggling a mile a minute. She remains very independent.
The only thing she can't do is go down stairs!! Once she does I will be sad, that's
the only time she "allows" me to pick her up.
Well, I will forward these few pictures to you. I am sure you won't be able to
tell but she has grown a lot !! Her face has changed a little, and of course
her personality A LOT !!!
Ok talk to you soon,
chris

Emily from Quincy, Massachusetts~
Hi Mama Sue,
It's me Emily from Quincy, MA sending you some pictures of my first hike in Vermont. We drove over to Manchester, VT and then on to Mt. Equinox where we drove to the summit and then hiked to Lookout Rock. The round trip on the trail was 3 miles and my family said I had the makings of a good hiker. When we finally reached our destination we sat on a bench, looked out at the beautiful vista and I had a nice cold drink and a couple of bones. It was great fun and I had a lot of good sniffs along the way.
On the way back to Rutland I slept all the way. They tell me I am a great little traveler.
On a more somber note I was told we are going to Puppy School. From what I understand both mom and I need to have some serious instructions in certain areas. I'll let you know how we do.
Hope you, Mike and all the Martin family are well. Mom told me all your new puppies are beautiful and we hope Timmy gets a forever home real soon.
Love to you Mama Sue,
Emily

Bethany from Tuckasegee, North Carolina~
Hi Sue,
I just had to let you know, I have a WATER SPANIEL! This is such a hoot, Bethany can't keep from "swimming" in Bella's water bowl! On really hot days I place a couple of ice cubes in the water to keep it cool, well Miss Bethany found out it's perfect for a dip! I'm trying to get a picture, she takes a drink first, then she stands up, puts her front paws in the water and starts to doggy paddle! No matter how many times I tell her "NO" she can't resist. I guess I need to purchase a small children's pool for her to play in. Bella can't believe it, when she sees her water splashing on the kitchen floor. Needless to say I probably have one of the cleanest kitchen floors around right now!
Bethany watches everything Bella does and she has to try it too. She's adventurous, tries to stalk and catch the bumble bees (I'm just waiting for her to get stung but I hope not). She's bouncing all around the house playing with her toys and trying to get Bella to play.
I'll talk later, better take the girls out for a jaunt in the yard before dark.
Hugs,
Cherrie'

Sophie from Billings, Montana~
Sophie's last night at home....ten weeks of age. Her new mommy couldn't take her at 8 weeks, as she was a very busy lady!
Hi Sue,
Sophie arrived last night at about 10:00. She was in good shape! I took her out to the grass where she peed and pooped. Then we drove home and she nestled in my neck the whole way. At home she had some water and some of her food after I added a little hot water to it. She slept in her travel case right next to my bed on the side dresser. We woke up early this morning to continue our moving sale. Sophie ate and drank more water, and is now running around playing with toys and Spencer.
I am waiting for her to tire out, but so far she is jumping around like a bunny! I took some pictures, which I'll send to you. We're going to the vet on Monday morning to check her out before we move on Tuesday.
Thanks so much! I'll keep you updated.
Susan

Bella from Tuckasegee, NC~
Hi Mamma Sue!
It's me, Bethany Willow! I've been soooooo busy at my new home. I really missed my Mom, Daisy and all my litter mates so much I cried for a long time. But my new Mom was right there with me. I think I'm going to like my new home and I love my big sister Bella. Mamma Sue, Bella doesn't like me very much, I don't know why? I chase her, I try to play with her, I bark at her and sometimes I eat her food when Mom isn't looking and I learned how to go up and down the steps just to be like Bella. Mom tells me Bella will like me once she gets over the shock (I don't know what that is but it sounds serious) of me being here and when I get a little bigger. I try to do all the things my big sister does.
I start Puppy Classes on Monday and I know how to sit on command, I'm walking on my leash, I'm learning the down and off commands. I still haven't gotten the housetraining part down yet but I'm learning. I get freeze dried lamb treats when I do my business outside. Mom will put Bella and me in a sit command together, then she'll tell us to wait while she opens the door and walks in first. Then she'll ask Bella to come inside, then I get to come in too, and we both get treats! I like treats!
Oh, there was one think Mom really didn't like, I found out how to go swimming in my water bowl and then I found Bella's and I just had to get my paws wet! I guess I too good at swimming cause Mom heard me and told me NO! Mom had to get this thing she called a mop and do the kitchen floor. I really like playing in the water especially in the hot weather. Mom has the AC (don't know what that is) on and it was something called 98 here yesterday.
Mom has some new photos she'll send soon. I love you Mamma Sue. Please give Daisy and Tic Tac tons of wet kisses from me. Thank you for giving me such a great start! I'll try not to get into too much mischief.
Puppy kisses,
Bethany Willow

Sonny and Cher from Ulysses, Kansas~
Hi Sue,
I wanted to let you know how nice it was to meet you & Mike Friday, you are lovely people............ breeding beautiful Cockers.
Sonny & Cher are my 11th & 12th Cockers and without a doubt they are the best puppies I’ve ever had. Everything about them is perfect, better than I could have ever hoped for, thank you so much. We had a long but good trip home on the plane with an additional 6 hours in the car. They were perfect on the plane not one mess and they slept in the car again not one mess. They were glad to get to our forever home and run and play in the grass.
They love to play on my pool cover it’s like playing on a big water bed. We are getting settled in now and daddy is get some energy back, he was really tired after the trip. I’m enclosing a few pictures of them playing in the backyard. Better go now the babies are up from their nap and ready to play.
PS: Went to my vet yesterday and they both checked out great.
Jeff
